Mission Statement
Tualatin Valley Artists is an organization of creative people dedicated to improving our community's quality of life by enhancing its art and culture. With our strong focus on building and presenting a regional sense of art and culture, we provide education, quality gallery display, poetry and musical performance -- all in an atmosphere of encouragement and opportunity.
Historical Timeline
August 2005
First Open Mics
Influence Gallery first opened by Founder Evan Acey at 231 E Main Street in Hillsboro, OR in August of 2005 as a privately owned art gallery, the first in Hillsboro since the 1970s.
2007-2008
Non-profit Status
Influence organizers applied for 501(c)(3) status under the name “Tualatin Valley Artists, Inc.” Influence was the first business in the “Downtown Core” to consistently offer live music and fine art in the same location.
2008
135 SE 3rd Ave.
Influence moves to new physical space, which would be its home for the next twelve years.
2020
Pandemic Impact
Due to the pandemic and social distancing trends, Influence relinquishes their lease at 135 SE 3rd Ave, but continues community music in various locations. Online open mic is created and continues to thrive today.
2023
Organization of the Year
Influence Music Hall honored as 2023 Organization of the Year by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
2024
Arts Volunteer of the Year
Influence President Greg Ebert named 2024 Arts Volunteer of the Year by the Hillsboro Arts and Culture Endowment.
2025
Founder Evan Acey Retires
After decades of dedicated service to his community, Influence Music Hall Founder Evan Acey retires from active Board duty in January 2025.
2026
Twenty + years of Open Mic
Influence Music Hall continues a long tradition of Friday night Open Mics, both live and online, as well as producing music for the Hillsboro First Tuesday Art Walk.

Influence Music Hall is pleased to partner with the City of Hillsboro’s Department of Parks and Recreation to bring outstanding musicians to Art Walk on the first Tuesday of every month.
